Around 90% less manual product-data work.

Bora Sport Group manages a catalogue heading toward 90,000 articles from 15+ suppliers. A centralized Shopamine PIM replaced a manual, multi-week pipeline with one normalized source of truth.

THE RESULTS

What the rebuild delivered

A centralized PIM turned a fragmented, multi-week process into a near-automated pipeline.

~90%

Less manual data work

An estimated 90% drop across logistics, commercial, and web preparation.

5 → 2

A leaner data team

The product-data team shrank from five people to two, with the rest moved into sales.

90k

Articles, one source

Up to 90,000 articles managed from a single source of truth, instead of fragmented Excel and PDF files.

A family distributor

More than 20 years distributing sports and lifestyle fashion across Slovenia, Croatia, and the wider Adriatic region.

Sport and lifestyle

Five categories, outdoor, cycling, skiing, nautical, and leisure, brands with carry-over items such as POC, Colmar, Karpos, Sportful, and Mico.

200 retail customers

From large chains like Hervis and Intersport to specialized outdoor and cycling stores across the region.

PART 1 OF 2

The technical rebuild

Sourcing, data normalization, and pricing.

Every season’s data arrived as chaos

Product data reached Bora as a mix of Excel sheets and PDFs, each supplier in its own format, often split across several files. One employee prepared data full time, and the logistics phase alone took around a month per season, twice a year.

Variants exploded by hand

A single helmet sample could expand into 50 products once colors and sizes combined, all built manually and prone to error.

Descriptions and translations

Of up to 90,000 articles a season, roughly 10,000 sell, and each still needed a description, translation, and color correction.

Why Bora chose Shopamine

Bora reviewed international and supplier-provided platforms before committing. Two things settled it: long-standing trust in Shopamine’s leadership, and a real grasp of distribution, how product codes, sizes, and variants actually work. Industry systems like JOOR were judged too complex for Bora’s own customers to adopt, while Shopamine matched that depth and stayed simple to use.

How Shopamine rebuilt Bora’s data pipeline

Four pieces that turned a multi-week process into a near-automated one.

01

One centralized PIM

Logistics, supplier, web, and sales data now live in one place instead of scattered across files and systems.

02

Reads any supplier file

A standard intake sheet tells suppliers what’s required, and the PIM extracts the data from their Excel and PDF files whatever the structure.

03

Original and normalized, side by side

Each supplier’s data stays intact and linked to its source, while a unified layer standardizes colors and sizes for consistent search and filtering.

04

Variants built automatically

One sample expands into its full range of color and size combinations with no manual entry, removing the team’s biggest burden.

RESULTS SO FAR

What the rebuild removed

The manual, multi-week pipeline is gone, replaced by one PIM that ingests and normalizes every supplier file.

Logistics prep, gone

Around a month of manual logistics preparation per season, eliminated.

1 mon

saved every season

Variants on autopilot

A single sample now expands into its full color and size range automatically.

50+
